A great cinnamon roll feels inevitable. Warm, comforting, and deeply familiar, it can be fluffy or structured, indulgent or restrained, glazed or generously frosted. Beyond the spiral of dough, butter, and cinnamon, it is surprisingly difficult to define exactly what makes one truly exceptional. It is even harder to decide which one is the best.

Since 2018, our team at World’s Best Cinnamon Rolls has traveled extensively, tasting and evaluating cinnamon rolls across cities, regions, and styles in pursuit of a single answer. This year, we set out once again to ask the question anew. Who is making the World’s Best Cinnamon Rolls right now?

After thousands of nominations from around the world and months of careful, anonymous judging, our search led us to Sunday Morning, located in New York City’s East Village.
